Faith-Based Regenerative Farming: Building NurseWang’s Holistic Homestead in New Jersey

I believe when we use God’s design, we produce healthier food. And healthier food creates healthier people, families, and communities. This conviction is the foundation of NurseWang’s Holistic Homestead, and it’s why I started this blog… to share the journey of living out that truth in the way I grow food and care for God’s creation.

Who I Am

I’m a vascular access nurse in New Jersey with 25 years of experience in health care. Every day I see how food and lifestyle shape health, healing, and quality of life. My research has also shown me that mainstream medical institutions often get food and nutrition wrong. That realization is what drives me to produce better food for my family and, eventually, for my community.

My Current Homestead

Right now, I work with just a half-acre, but it’s packed with life. I raise rabbits, chickens, and turkeys. There are gardens tucked into every usable space, and this spring I planted a young orchard that will (Lord willing) provide fruit for years to come. It’s small, but it’s a proving ground where I test ideas, learn lessons, and see God’s design at work.

My Regenerative Approach Rooted in God’s Design

My approach blends regenerative farming, permaculture design principles, and multi-species integration. I don’t see these as new inventions; they’re just recognition of what God created from the beginning; systems designed to work in balance. By following His design, I can heal the land, raise truly healthy animals, and build a homestead that’s resilient and abundant.

My Goals

Long term, my goal is simple: a Christ-centered, regenerative farm that blesses my community with food raised the way God designed it. The path there won’t be rushed. I want to transition slowly and responsibly, paying off debt and learning as I go, so that when I do reach full-time farming it’s sustainable, honest, and firmly rooted in stewardship.

Why This Blog Exists

This blog exists to teach and share what I’m learning, to document my journey step by step, and to inspire others to see food and farming through the lens of God’s design. By sharing my experiences (the good, the bad, and everything in between) I hope others see what’s possible, from a small backyard homestead to full-time family provision. Almost anyone can take steps to improve their health and fill their spirit through food and stewardship.

What to Expect

Here, you’ll find a mix of practical homestead updates, faith-based reflections, and encouragement for your own journey. I’ll share how I raise animals, tend gardens, and test permaculture ideas. I’ll also talk about the principles that guide me and my goal of moving—slowly and responsibly—toward full-time farming.

Closing

I invite you to walk with me on this journey of stewardship and provision. My hope is that by following God’s design we can not only heal the land but also strengthen our families and communities. Join me here as I share the steps, big and small, toward a life of faith-filled farming.
